The electioneering is gaining momentum in different constituencies as just seventeen days are left for the next general election. Almost all political parties have launched fierce election campaigns in different cities.
A tough contest is expected between Ch. Nisar Ali Khan and Ghulam Sarwar Khan in NA-59 Rawalpindi III. Dissent PML-N leader Ch. Nisar Ali Khan is contesting the next general election as an independent candidate and on the other side Ghulam Sarwar Khan is contesting election from PTI platform. PML-N gave party ticket to Engineer Qamarul Islam Raja.
Inner sources stated that currently Ch. Nisar Ali Khan is facing serious difficulties due to not getting PML-N ticket. PTI Candidate Ghulam Sarwar Khan can grab this seat owing to the wide distribution of PML-N votes.
PPP candidate Asif Satti is also contesting election from this constituency but tough contest is expected between PTI and PML-N. Sources have learnt that despite great unrest in PML-N, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would win the seat from PTI candidate.
From 1970 to 1977, this constituency was called NA-28 and during the period of 1977 to 2002, this constituency was renamed as NA-38. After the 2002 general elections, this constituency was named NA-52. Now it has been changed to NA-59 Rawalpindi after the new delimitation.

Along with the Ch. Nisar Ali Khan and Ghulam Sarwar Khan, another Female candidate Naveeda Sultana is contesting election from this constituency. Sources stated that tough contest is also expected in provincial constituencies of NA-59 like PP-10 and PP-12.
On the other hand, a tough fight is also expected on PP-6 and PP-12 as Ch. Nisar Ali Khan and Engineer Qamarul Islam Raja are contesting from this constituency.

Sources have learnt that despite great unrest in PML-N, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would win the seat from PTI candidate. From 1970 to 1977, this constituency was named NA-26 and from 1977 to 2002 it was named NA-36. In 2002, it was called as NA-50 but now after recently held delimitation, the constituency is called as NA-57.
