Elon Musk’s estranged daughter, Vivian Wilson, recently criticized her father in an interview with Teen Vogue, calling him a “pathetic man-child” and alleging that he “definitely” performed a Nazi salute during Donald Trump’s inauguration earlier this year.
Wilson, who has been estranged from Musk for five years, expressed her frustration at being associated with him. “I don’t give a f*** about him,” she stated. “It’s annoying that people link me to him. I just don’t have the space to care anymore.” Now financially independent, she lives in Tokyo, where she is studying to become a translator.

She admitted that she occasionally comes across news about Musk and feels compelled to publicly denounce his actions. One such instance was the controversial salute he made at Trump’s inauguration, which some compared to a Nazi salute while his defenders argued it was a “Roman” salute. “The Nazi salute s*** was insane,” she said. “We’re going to call a fig a fig, and we’re going to call a Nazi salute what it was. That s*** was definitely a Nazi salute.”
Despite Musk’s immense wealth and influence, Wilson made it clear she is not intimidated by him. “Why would I be scared of him? Because he’s rich? Oh no, I’m trembling. Ooh, shivering in my boots here,” she said sarcastically. “He owns Twitter. OK. Congratulations.”
Musk has previously distanced himself from Wilson, who is transgender, claiming he was “tricked” into allowing her to receive gender-affirming medical treatments at 16. In a 2024 interview, he referred to her as “figuratively dead” and accused her of being a “radical Marxist.” Wilson rejected this characterization, clarifying that while she is a leftist, she does not identify as a Marxist.
“I define myself by the things I personally believe in—things that seem like common sense if you think about them for more than two seconds,” she explained. “I believe in free healthcare. I believe food, shelter, and water are human rights. I believe wealth inequality is one of the biggest problems in the U.S., especially for our generation.”

She also voiced support for fair wages and criticized billionaire wealth hoarding, including that of her father. “I don’t think wealth should be hoarded by these mega-billionaires who only serve their own interests,” she said. “I’ve met some of these billionaires—they’re not very good people. I don’t think any of them are.”
Musk, who reportedly has 14 children with four different women, shares Wilson with his ex-wife, Justine Wilson. Earlier this year, his personal life made headlines again when conservative children’s book author and media personality Ashley St Clair claimed she had a secret child whose biological father was Musk.
