English actress and activist, Emma Watson, spoke out in favor of Palestine in her latest Instagram post. Watson joined the pro-Palestinian activism on social media. Her post irked the current and former Israeli officials. The actress, however, garnered praise from Palestinian activists.
On Sunday, Emma Watson reposted a post from ‘Bad Activist Collective’ which showed Palestinian protestors raising a placard that read, ‘Solidarity is a verb’. She also posted a quote from British-Australian scholar, Sara Ahmed in the post. The post read: “Solidarity does not assume that our struggles are the same struggles, or that our pain is the same pain, or that our hope is for the same future.” The quote added, “Solidarity involves commitment, and work, as well as the recognition that even if we do not have the same feelings, or the same lives, or the same bodies, we do live on common ground.”
A large number of Palestinian social media users appreciated the actress for raising her voice on the subject. Watson, however, came in the crosshairs of the Israeli officials who slammed the actress for promoting alleged anti-semitism.

Fiction may work in Harry Potter but it does not work in reality. If it did, the magic used in the wizarding world could eliminate the evils of Hamas (which oppresses women & seeks the annihilation of Israel) and the PA (which supports terror). I would be in favor of that! pic.twitter.com/u1TrP3sqSS
