Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan will inaugurate the “Insaf Rozgar Scheme” on Monday, April 15, to help eradicate unemployment and poverty in the terrorism-affected areas of the province.
Interest-free Loans
Under this scheme, skilled and degree holding unemployed people in the age group of 18 to 50 years would get interest-free loans from Rs50,000 to Rs1 million. People with technical skills will be able to get loans from Rs50,000 to Rs0.5 million, whereas others will be able to get Rs50,000 to Rs0.3 million.
Monthly earnings of Pakistan stood at 147.60 USD in June 2015. The country’s Labour Force Participation Rate increased to 54.44 % in December 2017.
PTI’s Election Promises
In May 2018, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had held a conference to present their party’s 100-day agenda if the party comes to power. Asad Umar, a central leader of the PTI, presented the economic highlights of the proposed agenda, which included the provision of jobs to youth and promotion of tourism. He had said that a policy to create 10 million jobs within five years would be formulated which would focus on provision of skills to youth.
Unemployment and underemployment is a major challenge of the present government. Pakistan’s population was recorded at 207.77 million people in June 2017. Monthly earnings of Pakistan stood at 147.60 USD in June 2015. The country’s Labour Force Participation Rate increased to 54.44 % in December 2017.

Faisal Vawda’s Tall Claim
Meanwhile, the PTI’s Water and Power Minister, Faisal Vawda, appearing on a primetime TV show had claimed recently that Pakistan was going to witness a historic turn in employment rate and “there are going to be more jobs than people” in the coming weeks.
