English captain Ben Stokes to donate match fees to flood relief fund

In his brief note, Ben Stokes said he feels great to be back in Pakistan after a hiatus of 17 years. He talked about the responsibility he feels towards the game of cricket.

Captain of England Cricket Team Ben Stokes has announced to donate the match fees to the flood relief fund in Pakistan.

Stokes announced on his Twitter account. “I’m donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan Flood appeal,” said Ben Stokes in a message posted on his Twitter account.

In his brief note, Ben Stokes said he feels great to be back in Pakistan after a hiatus of 17 years. He talked about the responsibility he feels towards the game of cricket.

“It is great to be in Pakistan for the first time for this historic series. To be back here after 17 years as a Test side is very exciting. There is a sense of responsibility amongst the playing and support group and to be here is special,” said Ben Stokes in his note posted on Twitter.

He then mentioned the devastating floods that hit Pakistan this year.

“The floods that devastated Pakistan earlier this year were very sad to see and have had a significant impact on the country and the people.”

“The game has given me a lot in my life and I feel it’s only right to give something back that goes far beyond cricket. I will be donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan Flood appeal. Hopefully, this donation can go towards the rebuilding of areas of Pakistan most affected by the flooding,” said Ben Stokes in his note.

Pakistani cricket fans are appreciating the heartfelt humanitarian gesture of Ben Stokes for the flood victims in Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised Ben Stokes for his donations.
