Former Pakistani pacer, Mohammad Asif, has accused PTI’s Faisal Javed Khan, of meddling in the affairs of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the selection process of the team.
In a recent interview with former cricketers, Shahid Nazeer and Shahnawaz Khan, Asif even blamed PCB for not doing enough for the promotion of cricket in Pakistan. He also blasted at senior cricketers, Misbah-ul-Haq, Waqar Younus, and Younus Khan as pathetic coaches.
“This team is not picked by Waqar, Younus or Misbah, it is selected by Faisal Javed Khan,” said the former pacer, adding: “As players, Misbah, Waqar, and Younus were good but they are pathetic as coaches.”

“They do not have any dignity or ego, they only know to say ‘Yes Sir’. The team will fail under their coaching,” said Asif further.
Though Asif was banned from international cricket after his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal in 2010. Since then he has not been playing cricket for Pakistan.
Senator Faisal Javed Khan, however, has rejected the accusations of the Asif in his recent interview with various media outlets including Hum News and The Current.

“These allegations are absolutely baseless,” said Senator Faisal. “I have no interaction with Misbah or any other official of the board. Whatever decision they take is their own and they are responsible for it. Our government has empowered the board completely and do not meddle in their business.”
“Misbah is the most empowered PCB official and he is the one responsible for the selection and everything that follows,” added Senator Faisal.
Meanwhile, speaking exclusively to #TheCurrent, Senator @FaisalJavedKhan rubbished the claims and said that he has no idea why Asif is levelling such allegations. https://t.co/UTMjnswWCC

The Senator added that he gives his advice to Pakistan Cricket Board on social media and radio just like any other cricket fan.
“I have been doing cricket commentary for 15 years now and often give my suggestions on social media or in talk shows,” said Khan.

While commenting on the team’s performance against New Zealand, he said, there is room for major improvements. It seems that team was not prepared to play against New Zealand. Also, the team combinations were bad. He expressed his astonishment at not selecting Shoaib Malik in the team.
