A man is accused of setting his 17-year-old daughter, Maimoona Bibi, on fire with the assistance of his sons because she refused to marry a man chosen by him. Police thwarted an attempt to bury her secretly and instead took her body to a hospital for post-mortem, registering a case thereafter.
It was reported that Maimoona had initially fled with a youth named Naseeb but returned home after local intervention. Despite her family’s pressure to marry Muhammad Asif, she stood firm, leading her father, Ata Muhammad, along with others, to allegedly beat and burn her to death. Investigations are ongoing, with the police pursuing the case against the suspects.

Upon reaching the spot, the police took possession of the corpse and conducted an investigation, revealing that the deceased wanted to marry a youth named Naseeb and had eloped from her home.
However, she had later returned home after the intervention of local dignitaries.
Her family tried to force her to marry Muhammad Asif, but the victim refused to marry him, after which her father Ata Muhammad, along with Asif, Arshad, Amjad and others, beat her up and burnt her to death.
