Federal Board of Revenue has summoned actress Saba Qamar for the evasion of taxes. According to the sources the FBR department has sent her a legal notice to explain the discrepancy in her filed income tax. The source added, ‘Saba Qamar’s filed income taxes do not match her lifestyle.’
The FBR is currently investigating the tax files of the actress in between 2014-2015. The board says the further investigation will be carried out once the actress submits the details of her assets and foreign tours. The source added, ‘further investigation will be conducted on details presented by the actor and then her income taxes filed for the years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 will also be audited’.
Saba Qamar has denied the reports saying she has not received any notice yet and she is only hearing this from media. “I have not received any notice and I am only hearing of it from you,” she told to a local news channel.

The actress said she is used to of this as it happens every year. She also criticized media channels for airing wrong information regarding her without any prior investigation.
Last year FBR accused the actress of being a tax evader. The revenue board claimed Saba Qamar has defaulted tax worth of Rs. 3.4 million. The news of sealing her house was flashed across the news screens. The actress denied the claims of house being sealed or her bank account.
Qamar dismissed the reports saying, “My house has not been sealed, neither has my bank account. I’m a tax filer. It’s very disappointing that channels are circulating such news without finding out the truth. These channels have no credibility as they have been spreading such rumors.” The Federal Board of Revenue is yet to comment on the controversy.
