Anchor Imran Riaz Khan has been denied permission to fly for Hajj despite a court order. Riaz was prepared to depart for Hajj when he was stopped by the FIA at Islamabad Airport.

In May, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had granted journalist Imran Riaz Khan permission to travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case filed by Imran Riaz Khan.

The court was informed that the petitioner’s name had been placed on the Exit Control List at the recommendation of the Federal Investigation Agency. However, after hearing arguments, the court granted the petitioner permission to travel abroad.
Imran Riaz now vows to take the matter back to court.
