Five people including two security personnel were killed in a fresh incident reported from North Waziristan from the terror-hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, on Thursday.
Major Muhammad Haseeb embraced martyrdom in an intelligence-based security clearance operation in Harnai district, Balochistan. Security forces had carried out the operation on the reports of the possible attack on innocent civilians in Harnai. The statement was issued on Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
The troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and killed three terrorists, it said. During the operation, an improvised explosive device went off near the leading vehicles of security forces. Twenty-eight-year-old Muhammad Haseeb from Multan, leading the troops, and 38-year-old Havaldar Noor Ahmed from Barkhan district fought bravery against the terrorists before embracing martyrdom.
In a separate incident, unidentified men intercepted a vehicle in the Mangi areas of Ziarat and kidnapped two people later. Later their bullet-riddled bodies were found in Mangi Dam.

Officials said armed men intercepted the vehicle and took away two people after checking their national identity cards they belonged to Punjab. The area people informed the local administration about the presence of the bodies. Bodies were later shifted to the nearby hospital. Security forces launched a search operation in the area for those involved in the crime.
Three women and two children, including four from the same family, were killed and 16 others were injured in a powerful explosion outside a house in North Waziristan district.
“Several nearby houses were destroyed in the explosion,” DPO Rokhan Zeb said, adding that the incident was being investigated. Injured bodies were shifted to the Miramshah Hospital. DPO said that the reason for the blast is unclear. However, other sources claimed that the explosion occurred as the result of the enmity between TTP and Gul Bahadur Group.
