A five-year-old girl allegedly escapes a rape attempt at the Ganga Ram Hospital of Lahore. According to the mother of the girl, the hospital staffer- a sweeper, allegedly tried to sexually assault the minor on the seventh floor of the hospital.
The incident happened at the Mother’s and Child’s Center of the hospital. The girl’s mother accused the hospital administration staff of attempting to suppress the matter. The guards handed over the 22-year-old staffer to police after the mother’s hue and cry.
Police claim that they found no initial evidence of sexual assault on the minor despite the allegations made by the family. However, a case has been registered under the harassment provision against the suspect. They are also monitoring the CCTV footage.
A letter allegedly by the victim’s mother asserting not to take further legal action has also gone viral on social media. However, the incident led to the protests by lady doctors and lady paramedics staff outside the Ganga Ram Hospital. The protestors demanded justice for the victim and called for stricter security and safety of the female staff.

They also blocked the traffic which was later opened for the traffic. Vice Chancellor of the Fatima Jinnah Medical University Khalid Masood Gondal, convened a meeting to address the concerns of the students and staff. The students said that they would also go and meet the university administration on campus security.
Vice Chancellor Gondal said that the meeting has been arranged with the students and assured that all their concerns will be heard. The incident has sparked outrage on social media against the growing trends of sexual assault and violence against the female including minor girls. Netizens also condemned the government’s inability to take effective measures against culprits. The weak judicial system and poor implementation of the law are also the causes in failing to control such incidents.
