Former PTI MNA’s Son Abducted by Bajaur Police

Former PTI lawmaker accuses Bajaur police of raiding his home, taking his special needs son; police deny arrest, cite Section 144 violation, sparking a political storm.

Former PTI lawmaker Gul Zafar Khan has made a shocking accusation against Bajaur police, claiming that his house was raided on Wednesday night, and his nine-year-old son, who has special needs, was taken away.

The incident gained widespread attention as Khan took to social media, stating that the police action occurred in his absence. This claim quickly circulated on various social media platforms, garnering support from several PTI leaders and workers who echoed the concerns.

In response, the Bajaur police confirmed the raid but vehemently denied the arrest of Khan‘s son. According to a statement from the district police officer (DPO), the raid was linked to Khan’s violation of Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. However, the police emphasized that as the former MNA was not present at home during the operation, no arrests were made.

The situation took a political turn as it was revealed that Gul Zafar Khan had attended a party meeting at the residence of former provincial minister Anwerzeb Khan the day before the alleged raid.

This meeting was reportedly in connection with an upcoming PTI convention. In the aftermath, local police registered an FIR against the PTI gathering, implicating several party leaders. Furthermore, it was disclosed that Khan was wanted by the police in a separate case registered in Upper Dir district just days before the incident.

In a parallel development, PTI’s former MNA Gul Dad Khan was arrested by the police on the same day for violating Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. This arrest, in conjunction with Gul Zafar Khan’s accusations, has intensified concerns within the PTI circles.

The party now faces not only political repercussions but also legal challenges, with the arrests potentially impacting its upcoming convention. As the situation unfolds, the focus remains on the investigation into the alleged night raid and the removal of Gul Zafar Khan’s son, fueling debates on the motives behind these actions.
