Four Major Generals Promoted to Lieutenant General: ISPR

The ISPR revealed on Wednesday that four Major Generals of the Pakistan Army have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-General.

Four Major Generals of the Pakistan Army have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General on Wednesday, revealed the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

A statement issued by the Pakistan Army’s media wing on Wednesday apprised that the officers who have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General include

  • Major General Muhammad Chiragh Haider
  • Major General Muhammad Amir
  • Major General Nadeem Ahmad, and
  • Major General Khalid Zia.
Promotions & Transfers

A press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday apprised that the Pakistan Army has made several transfers and postings of senior army officers on key positions.

Pakistan Army’s media wing stated that:

  • Lt General Azhar Abbas has been posted as the Commander of Rawalpindi Corps,
  • Lt General Waseem Ashraf has been posted as the Commander Southern Command, and
  • Lt General Khalid Zia has assumed the post of Inspector General Arms.
  • Lt General Bilal Akbar has assumed the position of Chairman Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF).

The recently promoted Lt General Chiragh Haider has been appointed as the Director-General JSHQ, previously, he was serving as the Director-General Military Training (DG MT) at T&E Branch, GHQ.

The recently promoted Lieutenant General, which is a three-star rank General, Muhammad Aamer was previously serving at the GOC 10 Infantry Division in Lahore, while Lt General Khalid Zia was serving in GOC 33 Infantry Division in Quetta.

Major General Nadeem Ahmad Anjum served as the Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC) and is accredited for eliminating the proxy network operated by India’s premier security agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

Jan Achakzai, Chairman of the Center for Geo-Politics and Balochistan, commended Major General Nadeem Anjum for his well-deserved promotion to the rank of Lieutenant-General.

Taking to Twitter, Achakzai said, “Balochistan owes a great deal for its peace to this son of Pakistan: Major Gen Nadeem Anjum who crushed #Indian proxy game in Balochistan.”

The Baloch analyst continued, “He deserves this honor to be promoted as Let Gen of Pakistan’s valiant armed forces. Balochistan will always remember you

Earlier on 12th April, four Major Generals of the Pakistan Army had been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-General. The promoted officers include Major General Nauman Mehmood, Major General Azhar Abbas, Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and Major General Faiz Hameed.

On 3rd April, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had approved the orders for the promotion of 40 Brigadiers to the rank of Major General. These promotions were approved during a meeting of the Army Promotion Board, presided over by Army Chief Gen Qamar Bajwa.

Amongst the officers promoted to the rank of Major General, 11 hailed from the Army Medical Corps.

The officers of the Army Medical Corps include Brigadier Muhammad Aleem, Brigadier Ahsan Altaf, Brigadier Sayed Nusrat Raza, Brigadier Karamat Hussain Shah Bokhari, Brigadier Farrukh Saeed, Brigadier Qudrat Ullah Malik, Brigadier Aamer Ikram, Brigadier Shahid Hameed Chaudhry, Brigadier Muhammad Qasim Butt, Brigadier Farhan Tuyyab, and Brigadier Muhammad Afsheen Iqbal.
