The video also hinted at the return of Divyenndu’s character and gave a glimpse of Abhishek Banerjee, though further cast details remain under wraps. While it appears the original cast will return, speculation around Hrithik Roshan possibly taking on the role of Kaleen Bhaiya has not been addressed.
The film, an adaptation of the Prime Video crime thriller series exploring power struggles and the criminal underworld in northern India, is scheduled for a 2026 release. Series creator Puneet Krishna will lead the project with Gurmmeet Singh, who directed 17 episodes of the series, returning as director.
This cinematic announcement follows three successful seasons of ‘Mirzapur’ on Amazon Prime Video, with the first season debuting in 2018, followed by a second during the pandemic, and a third earlier this year to widespread acclaim.
Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment shared their enthusiasm, describing the film as a milestone for the franchise: “After three seasons of captivating storytelling and beloved characters like Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Bhaiya, and Munna Bhaiya, we believe the film will offer an immersive experience for fans. This big-screen adaptation marks an exciting chapter for the ‘Mirzapur’ franchise and our partnership with Prime Video.”
Manish Menghani, director of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, emphasized ‘Mirzapur’s’ reputation as one of India’s most celebrated series, praised for its complex characters, iconic dialogues, and compelling plot.
