Frontier Works Organization and Pakistan Railways signed a series of agreements on 19 March 2021 to reduce the journey time and strengthen the national economy. Director General FWO visited Pakistan Railways Headquarters at Lahore. During the visit, DG FWO met Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways, Mr. Nisar Memon, where long-term collaboration between both organizations came under discussion.
DG FWO apprised CEO Pakistan Railway about ongoing development works being executed by FWO. CEO PR appreciated FWO’s offer to work on Pakistan Railway projects in real earnest and explore the possibility of a long-term association to work for the betterment of the country.

According to the details, FWO will collaborate with Pakistan Railways on three significant projects; Samasatta – Amruka Section, Dadu – Habibkot Section, and Kundian – Attock City Section. Rehabilitation and renewal of railway tracks, repair of the bridges, and overhauling of level crossings are some of the highlights of these projects.

Samasatta – Amruka Section Cost: Rs. 7.735 billion
Rehabilitation of Track between Samasatta and Bahawalnagar Stations

Conversion & Repair of Bridges
Rehabilitation of 10 Stations & 80 Level Crossings
Dadu – Habibkot Section Cost: Rs. 2.438 billion
Rehabilitation/Upgradation of Track from Rehmani Nagar to Bakrani Road

Overhauling of Level Crossings Kundian
Attock City Section Cost: Rs. 2.222 billion
