According to reports by one of Pakistan’s leading defence analysts, Aerosint Division PSF, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Bajwa will depart on an official visit to the United States of America.
Gen. Bajwa will reportedly leave for the US on the 20th of February and he will meet top US officials at the Pentagon. He will visit the US alongside other officials, who have not been named yet.
Earlier, news emerged in mainstream media that officials from Pakistan will visit Washington to take the US into confidence regarding PM Khan’s upcoming visit to Russia. The officials will visit the White House and also meet the U.S National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

As per the reports, the officials will hold meetings with the US on the instruction of PM Imran Khan. Furthermore, based on the reports, the officials will take the US into confidence and remove any reservations regarding PM Khan’s upcoming trip to Russia. According to the latest reports, one of the officials from Pakistan is COAS Bajwa.
On the other hand, the government is yet to release an official statement or a confirmation regarding the matter.

In 2019, COAS Bajwa visited Pentagon. Then Chairman Joint Chief of Staff General Joseph F. Dunford received COAS Bajwa. The US also presented Gen Bajwa with a guard of honor with 21 gun salute. General Qamar Javed interacted with US military leadership during his visit to the Pentagon. The military leaders discussed matters related to security and bilateral military cooperation.
Imran Khan’s visit to Russia
PM Imran Khan is set to pay an official visit to Moscow in the last week of February. The visit will make him the first Pakistani prime minister in more than 20 years to visit Russia.
To clarify, the last time a Pakistani Prime Minister paid a bilateral visit to Russia was in 1999. In April 1999, then PM Nawaz Sharif paid an important state visit to Kremlin. Meanwhile, former president Asif Ali Zardari paid his last bilateral visit to Russia as President in 2011.
A high-level delegation of senior ministers from PM Khan’s cabinet will accompany him. Russia and Pakistan will focus on enhancing cooperation in the spheres of economy, trade, defense, and energy.
