The ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Pakistan today, amid huge security protocol. Nawaz is due in the accountability court tomorrow, where he faces charges on three references filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau.
After Nawaz expressed disquiet in London that he did not get a ‘warm welcome’ whenever he lands in Pakistan. Today, Nawaz was welcomed by many loyalists, including MNA Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, Senators Asif Kirmani and Pervaiz Rasheed and other cheering supporters at the Islamabad International Airport. Along with his party members, Nawaz Sharif left to attend the meeting with senior party leaders at Punjab House.
Speaking with the media, PML-N leaders adamantly defended the Nawaz Sharif with a tirade against the establishment, judiciary, and Imran Khan.
The information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb passionately supported the party head. She claimed that Nawaz Sharif is not running away from the trial. “The PM [Nawaz Sharif] who was responsible for prosperous Pakistan, doesn’t have to run away from accountability.”

She ridiculed Imran Khan and stated that “he cannot face the courts because he is himself a thief”.
She also commented on the Apex Court’s verdict and stated that “there is no evidence against Nawaz on Panama cases, and hence he was ousted on Iqama charges.” She further claimed that no corruption charges could be placed on Pakistan’s three-times elected PM against whom, neither the Supreme Court or JIT and even now NAB could find anything despite sending teams to London to find evidence.
While, counting the services Sharif had given to the Nation, she claimed that, “It is a new era in Pakistan now. This era was started by the three-times elected PM Nawaz Sharif. It is only the elected members who can achieve the progression, and prosperity, and serve the people of Pakistan”.
She explained that People of Pakistan are with Nawaz Sharif. They love him. He has served Pakistan’s people and has put Pakistan on the ‘right path.’
Maryam Aurangzeb went on to ridicule Khan for being too naive to understand the situation. She claimed that since Nawaz Sharif combatted Taliban and defeated them by uprooting their ascendency in Pakistan, he needed security. But on the contrary to this, “Imran Khan had always been the pro-Taliban leader, so he doesn’t need the protection, and he faces no threat of this sort’, she argued.

She said, Imran doesn’t understand the difference between protocol and the security, though people of Pakistan fully understand this.
Talal Chaudhary, another outspoken PML-N leader, was all praise for Nawaz Sharif. He reiterated that ‘he was our leader, and he is our leader, and he will continue to be our leader.’ He also stated that Nawaz is the most important person in Pakistan.
He blamed others for starting this politics of revenge and starting this fight. He lamented the injustice against Nawaz and termed it bogus.

Nawaz is giving a signal of continuous confrontation with the judiciary and the establishment. Given the power he enjoyed, the continuous uncontrollable and unexpected events have surprised the house of Nawaz and his supporters.
Given the extreme flexibility of the Pakistan’s judicial system, where, defense gets undue favors, undergoing a supervised justice seems unacceptable for PML-N. Besides, Zardari’s acquittal from all the corruption charges in NAB reflects the biases of the system against Sharif’s.
Upon his arrival, on his way to Punjab House, PML-N Chief was accompanied by the massive entourage of security officials and others. Imran Khan had attacked Nawaz on Twitter in series of tweets for wasting taxpayers’ money despite being indicted for corruption.
PTI believes that PML-N is trying to play a victim card as Imran khan has previously mentioned in his tweets and speeches. The rhetoric of being undone at the hands of the establishment and hostile forces was promoted again by Talal Chaudhary. PML-N is crying foul and wants to reach out to the general public to make them believe that that they are the victim of a conspiracy. And, some external elements and internal non-state actors are behind this extraordinarily efficient performance of JIT and subsequent trials in accountability court.
PML-N does not want to buy the argument of corruption and alleged wrongdoings of Nawaz. They cite the confidence shown by the public of Pakistan in the leadership of Nawaz – as millions across the country continue to adore Sharif – as the ultimate arbiters. The embattled Sharif is trying to send a message of leadership and pose as a defiant character amid continuous pressure from within and outside the country to undergo accountability promised at various occasions.

On the other hand, Sharjeel Memon has voiced his own complaints against the establishment favoring Nawaz and NAB not arresting Nawaz unlike him.
