The leaders of the Pakistan People Party (PPP) said that the government is trying to make use of parliament to go to IMF for bailout economic package.
According to the details, PPP leaders Maula Bakhsh Chandio and Nafeesa Shah in a press conference held in Islamabad said that the country is suffering from Rs. 11.4 billion circular debt and 9 billion USD fiscal deficit whereas the incumbent government seems to be following the policy of previous government.
PPP leaders said that the government has increased 46% in gas prices and Rs. 2 per unit in electricity charges. ‘PPP thought the government in its 100 days plan would ease the hardships of the people but it had added in taxes that have ultimately discomforted the common man.’
PPP leaders while criticizing the government said that the poor people of the country are looking for some relief instead of heavy claims. The people are disappointed after prime minister’s disappointing statements.
PPP leaders in their press conference accused two MNAs of the treasury benches of pressuring Deputy Commissioners to post certain ‘Patwaris’ of their choice to certain places. The concerned Deputy Commissioner has written a letter addressed to prime minister complaining about the interference of the MNA’s.
PPP Leaders said that 20 days have gone by since the government took over; and in its cabinet meeting on Wednesday, it decided to impose new taxes. The cabinet also decided to impose tax on extracting cash from Automated Telling Machine (ATM).

‘We were expecting better decisions from the new government but it has imposed heavy taxes that have directly affected the poorer’, PPP leaders reiterated. PPP leaders also criticized N league without naming it saying that PPP is not under any compulsion.
They went on to say that PPP had supported N-league for democracy and now similarly it supported Pakistan Tehreek–e-Insaf. It is the N-league which may have compulsions as its leader is in jail and others are also likely to go to jail.
