Hacker posts news of Fazl-ur-Rehman death from Fawad Chaudhry account

One of the tweets read that he is leaving PTI. Tweets hailing PMLN were shared from his account.

On Friday night, hacker posted the fake news of the death of Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman from Twitter account of Fawad Chaudhry. Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf confirmed the news of the hacking of Fawad Chaudhry in a tweet last night.

Hacker posted some bizarre tweets from the account of Fawad Chaudhry. One of the tweets read that he is leaving PTI. Tweets hailing PMLN was shared from his account. Soon netizens started sharing the screenshots of the tweets all over Twitter.

Hacker also changed the account details of Fawad Chaudhry; replaced it with the slogan ‘N league Zindabad’. The tweet of the death of Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman gained extreme traction on social media.

PTI, on the other hand, said that they are trying to recover the account of Fawad Chaudhry. The account seems to have recovered and all the tweets done by the hacker have been deleted.

Earlier, Twitter account of the General Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insad Asad Umar was hacked. The official account of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf informed the followers.

The statement on the PTI Twitter account asked people to report anything objectionable that appears on the Twitter account of Asad Umar. The efforts were made to recover the account of Asad Umar.

“PTI Secretary General Asad Umar’s account has been hacked. Please report any uncharacteristic tweets to Twitter. We are working with Twitter to get access back,” it said.

The account hacking of Asad Umar came immediately after PTI had won back Punjab from PDM following the decision of Supreme Court. Earlier, PTI leader Hammad Azhar had complained hacking of his phone and email id; his account was recovered after a while.

There has been a consistent attack on the social media accounts of PTI leaders. Yesterday, PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s near-miss road accident has raised alarm among the public. His supporters took to Twitter to pray for his safety and are demanding an inquiry into the accident.
