Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he had good relations with Trump Administration. He made the comments while talking on a podcast hosted by popular social media influencer and vlogger Junaid Akram.
While talking about the controversial foreign conspiracy against him, Imran Khan said he was ousted as he wanted an independent foreign policy for Pakistan. He then clarified that an independent foreign policy does not mean being “anti-American”.
“Independent does not mean anti-American. I am not even anti-Indian. I am against the racist policies of BJP and RSS and what they have done in Kashmir,” Imran Khan said.

“However, India has many schools of thought and I have many friends there. The same case is with America. I had great relations with the Trump Administration as well,” the PTI Chairman further added.

To clarify, Donald Trump served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021. Pertinent to mention, due to being so outspoken and taking an unusual stance on key policy issues, Donald Trump has brought on many controversies. As a result, he is one of the least popular presidents.
However, Donald Trump shared friendly ties with Imran Khan. On numerous occasions, he even called Imran Khan his “friend“. Furthermore, Donald Trump also hailed Imran Khan as a great leader.
Imran Khan urges independent foreign policy
PTI Chairman Imran Khan has often come under criticism for “praising” India’s independent foreign policy. However, during the podcast, Imran Khan clarified his stance several times.
He reiterated that Pakistan should have friendly relations with everyone, but should be independent to make its own foreign policy decisions. He once again gave the example of India.
The former PM said India has good trade relations with Russia despite being a strategic ally of the US. Moreover, no one interfered in India’s foreign policy matters regarding Russia. However, when Pakistan did the same, the US hatched a conspiracy to topple Imran Khan’s government. Imran Khan was referring to the time when he went to Russia during the peak of Russia-Ukraine war and was pressurized to cancel the visit.
