Hadiqa Kiani gets featured at New York Times Square

Hadiqa Kiani has a singing career spanning over two decades. She is the recipient of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. Kiani is also Pakistan’s first female Goodwill Ambassador to United Nations. She has recently entered the field of acting.

Pakistani singer and actor Hadiqa Kiani gets featured at the New York Times Square as Spotify’s artist of the month. The singer is featured as part of their ‘EQUAL PAKISTAN’ initiative.

Spotify is giving a platform to highlight Pakistani female singers through the EQUAL Pakistan venture.

Grammy winner Arooj Aftab was chosen as Spotify’s Equal Pakistan ambassador for March. Followed by folk singer Mehak Ali and now Hadiqa Kiani for May. Spotify has selected singer Mehak Ali as their new ambassador for the ‘Equal Pakistan’ initiative. She has been selected in the light of the holy month of Ramadan. The new edition is “updated its Ramadan Destination for Pakistani listeners, curated for every Ramadan moment”.

“Hadiqa Kiani’s versatility knows no bounds. Being a trendsetter for Pakistani women over the past two and a half decades, she has conquered all, shattering every glass ceiling along the way. Hadiqa remains an icon and an inspiration that artists, especially Pakistani women look up to,” highlighted Rutaba Yaqub, Spotify’s Music Manager for Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. “We are elated to have her as the EQUAL Pakistan Ambassador for the Month where she will act as the torchbearer, leading the way for not just female artists but the community in general to pursue their dreams,” she added.

EQUAL Pakistan Ambassador of the month receives organic and on-platform promotion across Spotify’s editorial spaces. The model is meant to boost singers’ reach on the platform in both their home countries and beyond. The ambassadors also get a chance to get featured on a billboard at New York Times Squares
