Hajra bagged her third record during her participation in the Equal Playing Field (ELP) initiative held in France. Hajra took part in a five-a-side match which went on for 69-hours; starting on 28th June and ended on 1ST July. Around 807 women played in the match, which earned it the world record for most players in a five-a-side match.
The game was played on the sidelines of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. Veteran Hajra netted six goals in the fixture and played for four hours.
Hajra Khan bagged the second Guinness World Record when she participated in a 1-a-side soccer match, this included players from various nationalities, where Hajra scored two goals in the contest.
A non-profit organization in France took the initiative with the intent to promote female participation in soccer. Culture and financial barriers, particularly in Asia, discourages female participation in the game of football. The ELF took to their social media accounts and informed the audience about the success of the challenge.
“We have completed our world record attempt for the largest number of players to appear continuously in a five-a-side match,” the Facebook post of ELF read. According to the ELF, 807 female players scored 404-369 goals.
WE. DID. IT.
