PTI leader Hammad Azhar resurfaced in Islamabad a year after staying in hiding. Azhar was present in the PTI’s Central Secretariat Office in Islamabad and met party leader Raoof Hassan, who was injured in an alleged assassination attempt.

Hammad Azhar and other key PTI leaders have been hiding to avoid possible arrest. His video of visiting the PTI’s Central Secretariat circulated on social media. In a brief talk with the press, he said other PTI leaders will also come out of hiding soon.
Islamabad Police raided the PTI Central Secretariat to arrest Hammad Azhar but he again evaded the arrest and escaped. So far his whereabouts are not known.

Talking to the press, he said that, Imran Khan had ordered him to go into hiding following the 9th May 2024 arrests. He has now made a public appearance on the orders of Imran Khan. Hammad Azhar said that he is prepared for all the consequences following his arrest.

“Yesterday, I received a message from the PTI founder [Imran Khan] that it’s time to come out of hiding,” said Azhar as he visited the PTI’s Central Secretariat office in Islamabad.
He expressed his disgust at the attack on Raoof Hassan. Adding that, Imran Khan has now asked him to lead from the front. Sharing his picture with Raoof Hassan, he wrote in the caption that, ‘You attack one, you attack all.’
As per the latest reports, Hammad Azhar has reached Peshawar. He is in Peshawar to secure his pre-arrest bail. Azhar warned that PTI will now resist. When asked about Murad Saeed, he said that he does not know about him as he is not in contact with him following the 9th May incident. Hammad Azhar also talked about the economic challenges faced by Pakistan during these years. Adding that, political certainty is needed to stabilize Pakistan.
