Pakistani actress Hania Amir calls out an Instagram user sharing her fake AI-generated videos on social media.
A few days ago, an indecent video claiming to be of Hania Amir went viral on social media. The video generated a negative social media campaign against her. Initially, it was unclear if she was in the video. Soon it became evident that the videos were deepfakes. Her face was used to superimpose on someone else’s body.
The actress strongly reacted to her deepfake videos. “This AI is extremely dangerous. Are there no laws to stop this?” Aamir asked, referring to the video, which she confirmed was not hers.
The actress, however, did not let that go. She traced down the user who shared those videos. She mentioned that the Instagram account in question is being run by an Indian from India.
The actress shared a screenshot of the Instagram account in question, belonging to a user named “Anureet Sandhu,” who had amassed over 22,000 followers.
The account has posted 100 videos of her generated from AI. The actress asked her followers to help by reporting the account, stating, “She has blocked me, but can you all report this account?”
Soon after being revealed, the account’s name was changed to “Core Sandhu” in an attempt to escape the detection. The user once again changed the name to “Sandhu Core”.
Videos were removed after mass reporting from the fans and followers of Hania Amir. Investigations further revealed that the account is based in Chandigarh and has changed its name 18 times since 2022.

Hania Amir is a celebrated and leading TV actress in Pakistan. She has appeared in several drama serials. Amir is currently appearing alongside Fahd Mustafa in a drama serial ‘Kabhi Mai, Kabhi Tum’. The incident has also sparked debates around the dangers of Artificial Intelligence and its ethical use.
