The video appeared on several big social media accounts. This triggered the authorities to take notice of the fake clip.

Haramain Sharifain of Saudi Arabia clarifies the fake video clip of the first-ever snowfall in the Grand Mosque of Makkah.

The Twitter account of Haramain Sharifain claimed the doctored video of the snowfall in the Grand Mosque of Makkah was fake. The video went viral on social media a few days ago showing the snowfall in the Grand Mosque of Makkah. It also showed pilgrims filming the video and taking pictures.

The video appeared on several big social media accounts. This triggered the authorities to take notice of the fake clip. “A video clip recently circulated on social media purportedly showing snowfall in Masjid Al Haram, #Makkah is fake, the National Meteorological Center said in a statement on Sunday. People unable to differentiate between a fake and an original shared the video of snowfall in excitement. The video is of 55 seconds that first appeared on the YouTube channel, Bazme Musarrat.

Meanwhile, heavy showers are reported from Makkah in the last few days. Videos of pilgrims circumambulating around Kabaa made rounds on social media. Furthermore, snowfall is expected in the northern regions of Saudi Arabia, and not in any of the holy sites.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia has banned carrying Zamzam water in luggage in a new guideline issued by authorities. Aab-e-Zamzam produced from the well located in Makkah has religious significance and is taken back by pilgrims in huge amounts while returning from Hajj and Umrah.

Now. Saudi General Aviation Authority has issued an official notification restricting other people to carry Zamzam water with them except for people coming on Hajj and Umrah visas. The pilgrims will only be allowed to carry themselves 5 liters of Zamzam water. A notification has been handed over to PIA and all other Pakistani airlines. Action will be taken against the airline in case of violation.
