Pakistani cricketer Haris Rauf has been honored with an honorary DSP rank by Islamabad Police. Picture of the cricketer dressed up in the uniform of Islamabad Police and being honored with the rank has gone viral on social media.
Haris Rauf is among the best fast bowlers present in the Pakistan Cricket Team. Rauf is the celebrated pacer in the Pakistan Cricket team who has earned immense fame and appreciation within a short span through his exceptional performances.
Meanwhile, Haris Rauf is not the first Pakistani cricketer who has been honored with the honorary DSP rank. Earlier, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi were also honored with the DSP rank from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police respectively.
Last year, Pakistani cricketer Shaheen Shah Afridi was appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of the KP Police. He was also given an honorary uniform and the rank of Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) in the ceremony.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was appointed the goodwill ambassador of the KP Police to promote its soft image among the people and bridge the trust deficit between people and police. A ceremony was organized in Peshawar and Afridi was appointed as an honorary DSP of KP Police. Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shehzad Khan Bangash and Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Moazzam Jahan Ansari conferred the honorary rank of DSP on the superstar cricketer.
Pictures of him appearing in the ceremony wearing a uniform and saluting like a police officer made rounds on Twitter. Afridi speaking on the occasion paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the KP Police. He praised the role of KP Police for playing a vital role in ensuring the safety of the citizens.
Earlier this year, Naseem Shah was also appointed as the honorary DSP by Balochistan Police. A formal ceremony was held in Quetta in which the pacer was dressed in the uniform and ranks were installed.
