A deadly terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district has captured global attention. Nine people were killed and 41 injured when terrorists opened fire on the 53-seater bus, causing it to veer off the road and plunge into a deep gorge near Teryath village in the Pouni area of Reasi on Sunday evening. The bus was en route from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra.

In response to the attack, Pakistan cricket team pacer Hassan Ali shared a viral post on his Instagram story, stating, “All eyes on Vaishno Devi attack.” Ali’s wife, Samiya, hails from India.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police released a sketch of one of the terrorists involved in the attack and announced a 20 lakh reward for information leading to his capture. “Reasi police announce a reward of INR 20 lakh for any fruitful information about the whereabouts of the terrorist involved in the recent attack on the yatri bus in the area of Pouni,” a police spokesman said. The sketch was prepared based on descriptions provided by eyewitnesses, and authorities are appealing to the public for any information.

Efforts to track down the terrorists are ongoing, with 11 teams of security personnel working on the ground and a multi-directional cordon established around the Ranso-Poni-Treyath belt, officials reported.

Hassan Ali, who has played 24 Tests (80 wickets), 66 ODIs (100 wickets), and 51 T20Is (60 wickets) for Pakistan, is not part of the Pakistan cricket team currently competing in the T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan’s performance in the T20 World Cup has been criticized, as its chances of advancing to the Super 8 appear slim. Pakistan has lost two of the three games it has played so far, including one against India.
