Hassan Niazi claims Meesha Shafi threatened him with the ‘Me Too’ campaign

News Desk |

Hassan Niazi, the social rights activist, and nephew of Prime Minister Imran Khan, has blamed singer Meesha Shafi for blackmailing and attacking him on social media.

Hassan Niazi made a startling tweet in which he claimed how Meesha Shafi threatened to initiate a Me Too campaign against him.

“Meesha team hits a new low. Sending me threats of the #MeToo campaign against me,” he wrote. “Typical Ayesha Gulalai mindset in community, which damages the #MeToo campaign for their personal point scoring. Lets me make it clear, blackmail me and I will expose u more,” wrote Hassan Niazi on Twitter.

Meesha Shafi, however, rebuffed his claims and denied ever interacting with him.

“Don’t think I’ve ever met this guy and neither am I accusing him of anything,” she tweeted. “Although he did inbox me for a retweet last year. Don’t remember if I responded. Do remember that I didn’t retweet.”

Nighat Dad used Meesha Shafi and other women in the name of Me Too campaigns to acquire funds from foreign organizations.

“Also, by all means, all are free to investigate whatever interests them, only to discover a bottomless pit of groped bottoms. All other conspiracy theories are just that,” added Meesha Shafi.

Meesha Shafi earlier lauded the celebrities who dropped their LSA nominations in her support and expressed solidarity with the ‘Me Too’ campaign.

Later Meesha Shafi blocked Hassan Niazi on Twitter.

Hassan Niazi reacted and stated, “God knows why she is blocking people for no reason. Meesha you need to have the tolerance to listen to the public. Your trolls abuse me day and night. I’ve never blocked them. Time to fix ur own house first.”

Hassan Niazi is a lawyer, with the Khadija Siddiqi stabbing case being one of his most notable cases, had accused the organization of Nighat Dad, the legal counsel of Meesha Shafi, of foreign funding.
