PTI leaders, Ali Haider Zaidi former Federal Minister Maritime Affairs, Syed Shabbar Zaidi former Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and a social activist on Twitter underscored the efforts of Sultan Ali Allana Chairman of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) for being one of the individuals who provided valuable contribution to accomplish this herculean task of completing two action plans and bringing Pakistan to its final stage of on-site visit for exiting FATF’s grey list.

Former Federal Minister Ali Haider Zaidi acknowledged HBL Chairman Sultan Ali’s support as the latter hired leading international experts to guide Pakistan’s FATF team.

Undoubtedly, this is a major achievement for the country and Chairman HBL has been appreciated for his keen support to the government authorities. Sultan Ali Allana provided assistance in form of engaging and paying millions of dollars to leading international consultants who assisted Pakistani team in passing FATF.
The ex-FBR Chairman lauded Mr. Allana and his team for providing financial and technical support for FATF compliance.
He tweeted, “Mr. Sultan Allana & his team of HBL provided financial & technical support in getting compliance for FATF. I congratulate Mr. Allana & his team for service to Pakistan. Time has come for the private sector to come up for the support of state of Pakistan intellectually & expertise.”

Similarly, a social activist on twitter also appreciated Mr. Allana by saying, “Always important to highlight the selfless contribution made by great individuals, who have already done so much for #Pakistan & continue to do so.”

HBL proud to serve Pakistan
Speaking to Geo, the HBL chairman said that they not only provided funds which need to be recognized, in fact, “we identified the consultants, put the team together, made the templates for the work that had to be done, organized training sessions and participated in report content, etc.”
He also highlighted the unflinching support of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, the then DG MO General Noman, and so many others who held the program launch and supervised its continuance together.
Also, he appreciated and gave credit to former Prime Minister Imran Khan for trusting in his strategy and to all those in his regime who followed it and directed it to the concluding stage.
“My sincere gratitude to all who gave me this opportunity to serve my country. It has been my privilege,” Mr. Sultan Ali said.
