The Indian cricket team's hard-fought 7-run win against South Africa marked a significant milestone in both Kohli's career and Indian cricket history.

Following India’s thrilling victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, an emotional and jubilant Virat Kohli shared a heartfelt moment with his family via video call from Barbados. The Indian cricket team’s hard-fought 7-run win against South Africa marked a significant milestone in both Kohli’s career and Indian cricket history.

Virat Kohli, honored as the ‘Player of the Match’ for his exceptional performance, was visibly emotional after the win. Captured on camera, Kohli made a heartfelt video call to his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their children, Vamika and Akaay, to share in the joyous occasion. Watch the adorable moment here.

Indian cricket star Virat Kohli credited his wife Anushka Sharma for India’s thrilling win against South Africa in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The final match was an intense contest, with India emerging victorious by seven runs. This marks their second major win in the T20 World Cup, the first being against Pakistan in 2007.

To celebrate the victory, Kohli shared a joyful photo on Instagram with Anushka Sharma. In his post, he expressed his gratitude by saying, “Nothing would be possible without you, my love. You keep me humble and grounded, and your honest feedback always keeps me on track.”

Kohli played his final T20 match on Saturday, leading India to a World Cup triumph before announcing his retirement from the format. Reflecting on his career, he said, “One day you feel you can’t get a run, then things happen. God is great, and I got the job done for the team on the day it mattered.” This victory places India among the ranks of England and the West Indies, who have also won the T20 World Cup twice. The win seemed unlikely for Rohit Sharma’s side, but Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah turned the game around in the 16th and 17th overs.
