At the Pakistan International Auto Show (PAPS) last year, BAIC-Sazgar announced the launch of three new vehicles in Pakistan.
These included an off-roader named BAIC BJ40 Plus, a crossover compact named BAIC Senova x25, and a 5-door hatchback named BAIC Senova D20.
It was only three weeks ago on 8th July that the beginning of off-roader’s production was announced on social media however, nothing is known about the rest of them both.
The hatchback was to be launched in July 2021 too, but still, nothing has been heard as we inch towards the end of July.
So, we thought let us go through what the customers will be getting in BAIC Senova D20, which would have an estimated price of PKR 21 Lac, according to different car blogs.
Engine and Transmission
According to a Chinese Auto blog ChinaPEV, there are 21 variants of 2015 BAIC SENOVA D20, including a total of two displacements of 1.3L and 1.5L. There are two transmission options: manual and automatic. The maximum engine power offered is 85.0kW, the maximum horsepower is 116PS, and the maximum torque of 148.0Nm.
However, in Pakistan, three variants are expected. A variant 1300 cc engine that produces 102 bhp and 128 Nm of torque. It will have a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1500 cc engine produces 116 bhp and 148 Nm of torque and will come mated with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Exterior
Body length, width, and height for the hatchback are 4322x1720x1503mm. According to Pakwheels, BAIC D20 has a modern-looking exterior with chrome designing in the front radiator grille.
It has stylish integral headlights offered with DRLs. The headlamps also have a time-delay switch that turns them off and height adjustment features. The windshield wiper has a multi-level operation with a rain sensor.

The outside rear-view door mirrors are electrically foldable, adjustable, and heated with integrated side-turn signals.
Safety
The car comes with many safety features including ABS, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), parking sensors, daytime running lights (DRLs), two airbags, front and rear fog lights, immobilizer, ISOFIX mounted seats, electronic throttle, headlights on a warning system, and fog lights, to name a few.
Interior
The BAIC D20 has a chic looking interior with fabric seats, 3-spoke leather steering wheel, adjustable steering wheel, sun visors (driver + passenger), rear window defroster, power windows, auto trunk light, coat hook, reading light with time-delay switch off, cigar lighter, white light dashboard, center armrest, to name a few.
