After a very long and anxious wait, the Hyundai Nishat has revealed Sonata’s price. The locally-assembled luxury car would be coming in two different variants, a 2000cc one, and a 2500cc variant.
The car was unveiled at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2020 at Lahore Exp Center.
Price
According to the company website, the Sonata 2.0 MPi 6-speed automatic will retail at Rs6,399,000, while the Sonata 2.5 Smartstream MPi, 6-Speed Automatic would be retailing at Rs7,099,000.
The luxury vehicle is a competitor to Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, two already established premium cars in Pakistan.
Booking Price
According to Pakwheels blog, the booking price for both variants is Rs2 million.
Hyundai Sonata: engine and performance
The Sonata is available in Pakistan in two variants only. The base variant has a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine, while the higher trim features a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine.
The 2000cc vehicle produced 152 hp and 192 newton-meters (Nm) of torque, while the 2500cc variant produces 91 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque. Both variants are mated with 6-speed automatic transmission and five drive modes (Smart/Sports/ECO/Custom/Comfort).

Dimensions
The car is 4900mm long, 1860mm wide, and 1445mm high, making it a spacious vehicle.
For comparison, the Toyota Corolla Altis dimensions 4620 mm in length, 1775 mm in width, and 1475 mm in height.
Exterior
The car comes with 18-inch Alloy Wheels, Tetra LED headlamps, Rear Horizontal LED tail lights, Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) with hidden light technology, a Smart door with a welcome lamp, smart lamp, and panoramic roof.
Interior
According to the brochure, the company will offer an 8-inch Infotainment Entertainment Unit. Along with that, there will be Wireless Charger and Push Start Button, paddle shift gears, making the owner’s life easy.
The seats will be made of NAPA Leather, while both Driver and Passenger Seats would be Powered. Finally, if we come to the AC, Hyundai Sonata will have Dual Zone Auto Climate Control.
The higher 2500cc trim will come with Heads-Up-Display.
Safety
Safety is something Hyundai has not compromised on it seems. According to the website, the 2000cc variant will have dual SRS airbags while the 2500cc version will feature six airbags (Dual SRS along with Front-seat side and side curtain).

Along with that, the sedans will feature Speed Sensing Door Lock, Central door locking, Rearview camera, front and rear-view parking sensors, cruise control, hill start assist, Electronic Stability Control, and traction control.
