Hina Parvez Butt’s fake news busted

PML-N's Hina Parvez shared images of Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan on Twitter. One picture showed former premier Nawaz Sharif with China's President Xi. The other picture showed PM Khan with China's Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Jianghao.

PML-N’s Hina Parvez comes under heavy fire on Twitter for making a dig at PM Khan, who is currently in China. The PML-N politician seemingly trolled PM Khan for being welcomed to China by the country’s Assistant Foreign Minister (AFM).

Hina Parvez shared images of Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan on Twitter. One picture showed former premier Nawaz Sharif with China’s President Xi. The other picture showed PM Khan with China’s AFM Wu Jianghao.

“Know the difference between elected and selected,” Hina Parvez captioned the photos. To clarify, the PML-N camp often accuses PM Khan of being “selected” instead of being democratically “elected.”

Nevertheless, comparing the images, the PML-N politician intended to show the importance between the two prime ministers based on the rank of Chinese officials welcoming them.

“If China wanted, it could have Uber, but it considered it appropriate to send its foreign minister’s assistant to receive the selected,” Hina Parvez tweeted.

However, the criticism did not sit well with Twitteratis who immediately called out Hina Parvez for spreading a false narrative. Twitteratis stated that the PML-N politician shared an image of when President Xi visited Pakistan during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure. The picture was from President Xi’s departure at Nur Khan Airbase. Then prime minister Nawaz Sharif accompanied President Xi to see him off.

Additionally, one of Pakistan’s leading journalists Imran Khan hit back by recalling that China’s Assistant Foreign Minister welcomed PM Khan. Meanwhile, when Nawaz Sharif visited China, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan received him.
