Huawei has discreetly released a new mid-range smartphone to its lineup in several European markets. Called Huawei P smart Pro, the device is identical to the recently launched Huawei Y9s. One can recall that Huawei Y9s itself was not much dissimilar from the Honor 9X. The only difference between the two devices was in placement of the fingerprint sensor.
One would wonder why the company would reintroduce the same phone in a market. Now, Huawei is adding another mid-range smartphone with a 48-megapixel camera setup in select European markets. The new devices come amidst the ongoing battle over lack of access to Google services.

Earlier this year, the phone’s patent appeared in the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) database, as many patent leaks do. They were approved at the end of September, and LetsgoDigital fondly started referring to the device as the Huawei P Smart 2020.
Huawei P Smart Pro Specifications
As far as its specs are concerned, the Huawei P smart Pro gets a glass back design and 21 layers of nano-textures, creating a smooth colour gradient. It sports a 6.59-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. Under the hood, it has an octa-core Huawei Kirin 710F processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The storage is further expandable via microSD card with up to 512GB memory.
The P Smart Pro runs EMUI 9.1 based on Android Pie but it lacks Google mobile services. Further, the phone packs a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 4000mAh battery capacity.
In terms of the camera department, the phone has a triple rear camera setup, comprising of a 48-megapixel main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. There is also a 16-megapixel elevated camera for selfies and video calling.
