I am always wary of such proclamations for obvious reasons and try to avoid the hype machine as best as I can before heading to a new place. Many cafes come and go like a flash in the pan, only a few manage to generate out of the box ideas and create a market for themselves.
I visited a new place recently opened in Islamabad, called Jessie’s with my family on a busy Thursday night. It is located in F7 Markaz on the first floor with a cute little veranda for eating outside where one can also enjoy the view. I was not prepared to see a boisterous crowd even on a weekday.
The first impression I built up was that it is a trendy, chic café mostly claiming for its burgers. Interior reflects the youthful buzz of a burger joint with a small bar standing at one end, tastefully done. It is a perfect place to hang out for youngsters but aside of young peeps I could also spot quite a few families, showing its diverse clientele.

The staff was cheerful and helped us in picking up their specialties. As it is a burger joint, so one should keep in my mind the limited menu. They have steaks, shakes, and desserts too. We ordered chicken and beef burgers along with their beef steak. We were served at a relatively good time.
Along with the burgers, were coleslaw and fries presented in a unique serving tray. I loved the layout and their hygiene was on point. As for burgers themselves, both beef and chicken patties were juicy almost melting in your mouth along wit the sauce, lettuce, and the rest. The heftiest and straight up most satisfying buns and patty combinations out there, without a doubt, was a total game changer from all the buns out there and left me scratching my head wondering why more places don’t have their own bun recipe. The seasoning was nothing short of flawlessness.
For me, it was love at first bite. I felt like I could have eaten much more but I was wonderfully full. I didn’t feel saturated the way one does with some of these burgers. The steak was perfectly done, moist and tender with a tangy seasoning on top. We ended the meal with a helping of molten lava cake.
I can surely claim that I had a perfectly good time and will be popping in again.
The main course was above our expectations and I found no flaw to complain about. It will be the test of time to further prove their endorsing an authentic burger joint in town. However, they can work a bit on their selection of ingredients when it comes to molten lava cake in order to make that sponge richer and smooth.

From the economic point of view, it was surprisingly reasonable, unlike other cafes which offer less value for a higher price tag. Here, it is a full package with uptown tastes in an affordable range.
Owners, Yawar Siddiqui and Yasir Jaswal, are warm hosts. They kept going around tables befriending all guests and making sure all their needs were tended to. I can surely claim that I had a perfectly good time and will be popping in again. Give it a try and you may never know who you bump into. I’ve heard a few celebrities are making their way up to this café!
