If Modi wages war against Pakistan, it will be last war: Sheikh Rashid

“There is old rapport between Lal Haveli and Lal chowk of Srinagar. If Narendra Modi starts a war with Pakistan then it will not be a traditional war but will be the last war. After this war, neither any grass will grow in India nor will bell ring in the temple of Balaji”, Rashid said while addressing a Kashmir rally in Dhir Kot.

Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid has warned if Narendra Modi wages a war against Pakistan then it will not be a traditional war but will be the last war.

“There is old rapport between Lal Haveli and Lal chowk of Srinagar. If Narendra Modi starts a war with Pakistan then it will not be a traditional war but will be the last war. After this war neither any grass will grow in India nor will bell ring in the temple of Balaji”, Rashid said while addressing a Kashmir rally in Dhir Kot on Saturday.

He went on to say that ‘Hitler Modi’ has committed a mistake by altering the status of Kashmir. He said that Modi has kept the Muslims in siege for the last 20 days but he does not know that Laal Haveli – Rashid’s residence in Rawalpindi – is connected with Laal Chowk of Srinagar. “Soon the time will tell you this,” he said.

He held that Kashmiris have been sacrificing their lives since the last 72 years and now they are looking towards Pakistan. “When Miandad wins cricket match by striking a sixer against India, Kashmiris express their jubilation over the victory of Pakistan,” Rashid said. He said: “our army was making preparations for this day for the last 72 years.”

While challenging the ‘all is well’ rhetoric, the foreign minister has dared the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lift curfew and hold a meeting in Srinagar.

While terming Prime Minister Imran Khan policies successful, Rashid said the entire international media is against Modi because Kashmiris are facing acute shortage of food and medicines. He said that PM Imran Khan will raise voice for the people of Kashmir in UN.

“I give a message to Srinagar that whatever call comes from Srinagar that call will be for Imran Khan and for all. We cannot trust the US. As soon as Imran Khan said doors to dialogue have been closed then some persons are declaring it international agenda. I want to tell these people Kashmiris are very intelligent people. They are not people of Palestine. Whosoever betrays the nation he will be thrown before the dogs. Now all Muslims should stand with Muslims”, Online wire service quoted him as saying.

Hold Meeting in Srinagar if ‘All Is Well’: Qureshi challenges Modi

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has challenged India to hold a meeting in occupied Kashmir if ‘all is well’ in the valley after it was deprived of the special status.

While challenging the ‘all is well’ rhetoric, the foreign minister has dared the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lift curfew and hold a meeting in Srinagar.

“Why there is a curfew, why there is a media blackout, why no one is sending their children to school, why so many restrictions are in place if everything is fine in Kashmir,” The Express Tribune quoted Qureshi as saying while briefing the heads of diplomatic missions at the Foreign Office.

The diplomatic corps based in Islamabad was invited for the second time since India stripped occupied Kashmir of its special status by revoking Article 370. The foreign minister told diplomats that the situation in Kashmir was contrary to the Indian claims, adding that the information gathered by Pakistan has revealed that it was ‘very grave’ in the scenic region.

“If everyone is happy with the Indian government’s decision, then why not Modi visits Srinagar and holds official meetings there,” the foreign minister asked, adding the fact India had imposed a clampdown and sent tens of thousands of troops to the disputed territory was enough to prove that people of Kashmir had totally rejected New Delhi’s decision.

Qureshi challenged the Indian narrative that there was no major protest happened in the wake of abrogation of Article 370. In addition, he said that at least half a dozen petitions had already been filed before the Indian Supreme Court challenging the decision of the Indian government. This indicates that even people within India are opposing Modi government’s decision on Kashmir.

He briefed the diplomats about Pakistan’s perspective on the brewing tensions with India, the paper said, adding that he told them that Pakistan always wanted to resolve Kashmir and other issues with India through peaceful dialogue. But, he regretted, New Delhi has repeatedly rebuffed Pakistan’s peace overtures. He said the war was not an option, adding any nuclear conflagration would be suicidal.
