Cricketer Imad Wasim finally bid farewell to Karachi Kings and has announced to join his hometown franchise Islamabad United in the upcoming Pakistan Super League 9.
He announced his decision early Tuesday morning in a heartfelt post shared on X( formerly known as Twitter). Meanwhile, Hassan Ali from Islamabad United has joined Karachi Kings. Besides Imad, Muhammad Amir has also left Karachi Kings. He is most likely to join Quetta Gladiators.
The trade also means that Karachi Kings will now be led by someone else. While sharing a heartfelt note he wrote ” new beginnings”.
The note started with a gratitude to Karachi Kings. “A very special journey with Karachi Kings comes to an end for me. It was a dream come true leading the franchise to a PSL trophy win in season 5. I would like to thank Salman Iqbal especially for his support and trust. A huge thank you to all Karachi Kings fans, my amazing teammates & staff throughout these 8 seasons.

“I wish the franchise nothing but the very best of luck. Time for a new chapter. Really excited to be heading to my hometown team Islamabad United. It is an amazing franchise with great people. I will try my best to repay the faith Islamabad United, Shadab Khan & Ali Naqvi have shown in me,” he said further.
“I will try to build on my player of the tournament last season and help my team win the trophy. Goodbye, Karachi, time to go home to Islamabad. #UnitedWeWin,” Wasim said in the conclusion.
A few days ago, Imad Wasim announced his retirement from the international cricket as well. The sudden retirement came as a shock to cricket fans who were anticipating the return of Imad Wasim back in the team. Fans believe the player announced his retirement probably after getting disheartened. Earlier, Muhammad Amir too had announced his retirement from international cricket.
