Imran Khan Arrested in Cypher Case

Official Secrets Act court has issued a written verdict to Attock Jail, directing to keep Imran Khan in jail.

Islamabad High Court suspended a Sessions Court’s verdict in the Toshakhana case, releasing Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Ministers Imran Khan on bail.

Within hours, Imran Khan was re-arrested in connection with the Cipher case. This new development stems from allegations of espionage, with the former PM facing accusations of illegally obtaining sensitive information.

Khan is now on a judicial remand till August 30.

Official Secrets Act court judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain announced the decision.

The special court has sent the written verdict to the Attock Jail superintendent, instructing the presentation of Imran Khan in court on August 30 (Wednesday).

Judge Hasnat Zulqarnain noted that the suspect is currently under judicial remand in a case related to the Official Secrets Act, adding that the suspect should remain in jail and appear in court on August 30.

“You are hereby directed to keep him in the judicial lockup and produce him on 30.08.23 before this court,” the order said.
