Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Chairman, Imran Khan, and youngest noble laureate Malala Yousafzai have made it to the top 20 list of most popular men and women in the world. Imran Khan is the new edition to the list this year and is placed at 20th position. Malala Yousafzai maintained her 7th position on the women’s list.
The list was finalized on the basis of an online study conducted by YouGov. 35 countries participated in the study and voted for the celebrities.

Why Imran?
Imran Khan, a strong critic of the current government, seeks premiership in the next general election. Imran Khan’s popularity has massively increased after the Panama Scandal. He aggressively chased the case against the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who was featured in the Panama Scandal for having undeclared properties in London.
The Panama Scandal was a huge blow to Nawaz Sharif as undeterred Imran Khan pursued the case against Sharif in the Supreme Court that eventually subsided the former from his primeminister-ship.

Why Malala?
Malala Yousafzai has been a global icon for women empowerment.She is a known protagonist of girls’ education. Hailing from the region of Swat, Pakistan, Malala Yousafzai and her organization ‘Malala Fund’ donated a heavy amount for the construction of girls school in Swat that was damaged by Taliban militants.
Malala Yousafzai in last year’s UN convention met various world leaders and urged them to facilitate the education for girls. She visited the Syrian refugee’s girls and provided them with necessary aid for their education.
Although she is immensely praised worldwide, but continues to remain a disputed figure in Pakistan, as many admonish her to choose to live abroad after the attack.

Who else?
Apart from Imran Khan, the men list features, founder of Microsoft at top position, while A-list Hollywood celebrity Angelina Jolie has topped in women’s list. Both the celebrities are actively serving humanity in their capacities. Angelia Jolie is serving as the Special Envoy to Refugees appointed by UNHCR in 2012.
Jolie has delivered several speeches at the UN convention and has been actively fighting for the rights of Syrian refugees.
Bill Gates through his charity foundation Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have pursued exemplary cases of social service in Pakistan. Their organization has supported the help of governments in Pakistan, Nigeria, and Afghanistan to eradicate Polio.
Following Bill Gates, the list further includes, former US President Barack at the second (2nd) position, Jackie Chan at third (3rd) and the Chinese President Xi Jinping at the fourth (4th) position. Politicians like Theresa May, Angela Markel, and Hillary Clinton were also included in the list.

Vladimir Putin is ahead at the 6th position followed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra at the 7th position and the US President Donald Trump at the 17th position. Turkish President Erdogan is at 19th position.
Amitabh Bachchanis at 9th followed by Football players Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi at the 10th and 11th position respectively.
Bollywood actors such as Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, and DeepikaPadukone were also featured in the list. Emma Watson and Gal Gadot and singers; Taylor Swift and Madonna, also made it to the list.
