Imran Khan, Chairman Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), said that Pakistan Super League (PSL) management should give free tickets to fans for the seats in the ‘Imran Khan’ enclosure, named after him, in the Gaddafi stadium.
Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators have qualified for the PSL final 2017 which will be contested in the Gaddafi stadium Lahore.
The Gaddafi Stadium is divided into different sections which are named after famous former Pakistani cricketers.
Imran Khan said, “It is quite unfair to have tickets priced at Rs. 12,000 with cricket being played in Pakistan after such a long time. This is injustice with cricket fans.”
Management of Pakistan Super League claims that 10,000 tickets out of 27,000 seats will be priced for $5 whereas remaining tickets will be sold out at $38, $76 and $114.
Fawad Chaudhary, the spokesperson for PTI, said that people could enjoy more if tickets were given free. He further said that PSL has become an event for ‘elite’ of the society.
Earlier this week, Imran Khan’s stated that holding the PSL at all was dangerous and there was no benefit to holding it.
No one wants int cricket to return to Pak more than me. But staging the PSL final in Lahore carries huge risks with no benefit at all.

A match played under a tight security ring around the stadium will exaggerate Pak’s security issue https://t.co/08D7d5Z7rm

He said that organizing a cricket match in curfew like situation will make a negative image Pakistan. And if any unfavorable event occurs, it would result in the end of international cricket in Pakistan.
And God forbid if any mishap happens we can say goodbye to int cricket in Pak for the next decade https://t.co/5WkOJi0aWa

He further said that “under such monumental security arrangements, matches can even be held in Iraq and Syria.”
