Imran Khan, the imprisoned founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has dismissed claims made by the party’s chief spokesperson regarding the opposition’s willingness to engage in talks with the establishment.
Raoof Hasan, PTI’s spokesperson, had recently stated that dialogue between the party and the establishment was inevitable and that PTI was open to such discussions. However, speaking to journalists at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, Khan refuted this, saying there was no point in holding talks with the establishment. He added that Hasan was mistaken and reiterated that, following PTI’s Islamabad power show, he had made it clear that the party would not engage in discussions with any party or the establishment.

Hasan had earlier told a private TV channel that PTI had always been open to engaging with the establishment, and dialogue was necessary to address the country’s challenges. He expressed optimism about future talks, arguing that a conducive environment needed to be created by both sides.
This statement came after Khan had previously declared that he was closing the door to any negotiations, accusing the establishment of betrayal.
In a related development, Hasan was replaced by Sheikh Waqas Akram as PTI’s central information secretary. Hasan was reassigned to lead the party’s policy think tank, as per Khan’s instructions, according to a notification issued earlier today.
