“Deeply saddened and shocked by the disqualification of Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid. Of all the CM’s I have seen, he was by far the best. Not only was he competent and honest but he also genuinely believed in the ideology of Haqeeqi Azaadi. His disqualification will be a massive loss for the people of GB,” Imran Khan said.

On Tuesday, the Gilgit-Baltistan Court disqualified Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid Khan in a fake degree case. A three-member larger bench — Justice Malik Inayat Ur Rehman, Justice Jauhar Ali, and Justice Mushtaq Muhammad — announced the verdict on the plea filed by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) GB Assembly member Ghulam Shahzad Agha.

The petitioner had argued that Khurshid’s law degree was fake and he should be disqualified under Articles 62 and 63. Khursheed claimed to have received a law degree from London, but it could not be verified.
