Former Prime Minister Imran Khan reacts to the alleged disrespect shown by the Afghan diplomats to Pakistan’s national anthem during the Rahmat-ul-Alameen conference in Peshawar.
Talking to the journalists in Adiala Jail, Imran Khan called it a trivial matter as compared to the critical problems Pakistan is confronting these days. When the journalist asked him about Afghan diplomats disrespecting the national anthem of Pakistan, he said that the future of Pakistan is at stake. There are more pressing issues Pakistan is facing these days, that needs urgent attention. “We are facing major issues, yet you’re focused on this,” said Imran Khan.
He also talked about the debate surrounding Constitutional Courts in the country. “At that time, it was about saving Justice Qazi Faez Isa. What’s happening now is against the Constitution,” he added.
Imran Khan further said, “The rally in Lahore is Do and Die, you can do whatever you want, the whole party has been told to get out.”

Talking about the amendments, he said, “They are going to abolish the Supreme Court. The issue of the Constitutional Court should have been fully discussed. Everything has a context. There is a difference between that time and this. At that time, the purpose of the constitutional amendment was only Qazi Faiz. All this should not have happened in the dark of night. What they are going to do is illegal and against the constitution.”
He further asserted that he was ready to stay for more time in jail to save the country. “If the Supreme Court is also destroyed, then the country will become a republic. I have been in jail for 15 months, I am ready to stay even more. He further added that “the constitution gives us the right to rally, if we are stopped, we will fill the jails.”
