Imran Khan removes Sher Afzal Marwat from key positions in party

PTI followers and supporters recently expressed displeasure over his handling of media and were demanding his removal from key roles in the party.

PTI founder Imran Khan removes Sher Afzal Marwat, the newly elected MNA of the party, from key positions in the party.

The decision was made following the recommendations made by the core committee of the party. He has also been removed from the list of names for the meeting with Imran Khan. The new focal persons include Barrister Ali Gohar, Barrister Ali Zafar, Omar Ayub, and Shibli Faraz.

The PTI leadership informed the jail administration of the new development. He has apparently been removed due to his controversial and firebrand politics.

PTI followers and supporters recently expressed displeasure over his handling of media and were demanding his removal from key roles in the party.

Marwat remained in the news for some other reasons. Earlier Sher Afzal Marwat, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), found himself embroiled in a fresh controversy after a video capturing him striking an individual during a party rally in Peshawar surfaced online.

In the footage, the lawmaker can be seen delivering a slap to the man while surrounded by a crowd of party supporters.

Expressing clarification regarding the viral video, the PTI legislator stated that the individual in question was his “personal guard” and that he slapped him because he was attempting to push away party workers.

“In light of security concerns, my guard was urging me to enter the car,” the politician explained, noting that he was trying to deter the guard from pushing away party supporters and preventing them from approaching him.

“This was not the first instance of the PTI lawmaker engaging in physical altercations. A well-known incident from the past saw him involved in a heated altercation with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Afnan Ullah Khan during a live television show in September of last year.

Subsequent to the altercation, the PML-N senator filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Marwat.
