Former Prime Minister Imran Khan says he had asked the Chairman PCB to make Babar Azam the captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team.
In his latest interview with Piers Morgan, Imran Khan expressed joy at the performance of the Pakistan Cricket Team in the T20 World Cup 2022. He says he is hopeful the Pakistan team will lift the trophy of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. In his interview, Imran Khan revealed that he called PCB Chairman to make Babar Azam the captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team. Babar Azam replaced Sarfaraz Ahmed in 2019.
“Our cricket was going through a bad time when I was the Prime Minister,” Imran said while speaking to Piers Morgan on his ‘TalkTV show on Wednesday.

“I only watched him play twice and immediately asked the head of the cricket board, you must make him the captain because he is genuinely world-class. He is exceptional and I haven’t seen a player with such versatility and correct technique, such stroke play, and temperament; he could go anywhere from here,” the former all-rounder added.

“He as the captain makes a lot of sense because you want your captain to be world-class so that he commands respect,” he maintained. “I think our team looks good. I think we might just win the final,” added Imran Khan.
Pakistan had lost the toss and asked to bowl first. New Zealand set the target of 153 runs which the Pakistani cricket team chased down with ease.
Earlier, Imran Khan was heard praising Haris Rauf and Muhammad Rizwan. A video of him interacting with young boys had gone viral on social media in which he praised the performances of Muhammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf.
