Imran Khan visits Sadaf Naeem’s family to offer condolences

Imran Khan reached the residence of Sadaf Naeem in Lahore’s Icchra area along with several PTI leaders and offered condolences to the family.

PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday reached the residence of slain journalist Sadaf Naeem to offer his condolences to her family.

Sadaf Naeem from a private TV channel died during the PTI-long march in Sadhoki, Gujranwala on Sunday evening. She was covering the long march and was coming down from the container of Imran Khan, fell, and was crushed under the wheels of the container. The reporter died on the spot.

According to the details, Imran Khan reached the residence of Sadaf Naeem in Lahore’s Icchra area. The former premier offered his condolence to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Other PTI leaders also met with Sadaf Naeem’s family to offer condolences. Dr. Yasmin Rashid met the family and expressed deep sorrow over the loss, especially for Sadaf Naeem’s children.

Similarly, PTI senior leader Asad Umar also met Sadaf Naeem’s family and prayed for her. Sadaf Naeem’s family told Asad Umar that she had a strong passion for her work.

“Just met Sadaf Naeem’s family for condolence. May Allah forgive the deceased and give patience to the family. The family members said that she was covering this long march not only out of her professional responsibility but also out of passion,” Asad Umar said.

Nation mourns loss of Sadaf Naeem

The manner of Sadaf Naeem’s death has caused shock waves across the nation. Condolences are pouring in as politicians, journalists and the public express sorrow over the loss of Sadaf Naeem.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed regret over the death, saying that he was “deeply saddened” by the incident. Extending his condolences to her family, PM Shehbaz praised Naeem as a “dynamic and hardworking reporter”.

The prime minister announced Rs5 million financial aid for her family and ordered authorities to immediately complete the regulation process and hand over the amount to her family. Similarly, Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi lauded the deceased and extended his condolences to her family. Furthermore, the chief minister announced financial assistance worth Rs2.5 million for her family.
