India vs Pakistan: Clash of the titans

News Desk |

India and Pakistan are set to clash today but it’s not going to take place in the mountains of Kashmir, the plains of Punjab or the deserts of Rajasthan but on an exciting cricket ground in Dubai.

Today’s match will be played in the backdrop of exacerbating tensions between the two neighboring countries raised to climax by the threats of Indian Army Chief who promises to give Pakistan a bloody nose. Emotions are thus running high on both sides of the border and today’s fixture is expected to be watched by many more millions around the globe.

India looks pretty confident and is the favorite to win today’s match. However,  Sarfraz, Pakistani skipper, has promised to surprise everyone. Wait for a few hours to know what that surprise could be. Good luck to team Pakistan.

With both the teams having won their opening Super Four fixtures, it’s not of absolute importance for either side to win this — at least not for the fate of Asia Cup. However, the recent heating up of the hostilities, between Islamabad and Delhi, means that neither side would want to lose this and disappoint their backers.

In the first fixture of the 2018 Asia Cup between the two cricketing giants on Wednesday, Pakistan was humbled by Indian batsmen and bowlers and it ended up being a one-sided match. A day later in the game against Afghanistan, Pakistan walked away victoriously but only after a tough fight with a flashy and energetic Afghan cricket team – which is a new interesting addition to the world of cricket.

Sarfraz and his side made blunders in their matches against India and Afghanistan and if they wish to bag the Asia Cup Trophy for themselves, and for the nation, they will have to cut down on their mistakes and give their 100 percent in the coming games. Today, all eyes will be fixed on Muhammad Amir, Shadab Khan and Shoaib Malik and Pakistanis around the world will be expecting to see these players at their best. India, on the other hand, seemingly invincible, is simply destroying oppositions on the field.

However, India will miss Hardik Pandya who was dropped after an injury in India’s first encounter with Pakistan in Dubai. Yes, the same Pandya who gave us goosebumps in Champions Trophy final in England last year. His blistering innings almost took the match away from Pakistan but in the end, Ravindra Jadeja did what Amir couldn’t do.

Ravindra Jadeja, who hadn’t played 50-over cricket for India in more than a year, is set to replace Hardik in today’s contest. India looks pretty confident and is the favorite to win today’s match. However, Sarfraz, as mentioned earlier, has promised to surprise everyone. Wait for a few hours to know what that surprise could be. Good luck team Pakistan!
