Indian Air Force accidentally drops non-explosive air store in Shivpure area, reporting major damage. No major injuries and casualties were reported in an incident that happened on Friday.
The Indian Air Force regretted the damage caused to the civilian property. The non-explosive aerial store fell on the rooftop of the house, 135 km away from Gwalior.
Eyewitnesses earlier said that an unidentified heavy object fell on the roof of the house belonging to Manoj Sagar, a teacher, around 11 am. Two rooms in the house were completely damaged, and debris fell on the car parked nearby, officials said.
Sagar was having food with his children, and his wife was in the kitchen when the roof burst open with a loud explosion.

The air force regretted the accident and ordered an immediate enquiry into the accident. “The IAF regrets the damage caused today to property on the ground near Shivpuri, by the inadvertent drop of a non-explosive aerial store from an IAF aircraft, and has instituted an inquiry into the incident,” it wrote on X.
The air force stated that it will also pay the compensation for the damage. Soon after the incident, the Police reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
“A heavy metal object fell from the sky from an Air Force jet on the house of Manoj Sagar…due to which two outer rooms have been damaged. There were four members in the house, all are safe. Police and the administration team are on the spot,” Shivpuri district Superintendent of Police Aman Singh Rathor said.
The incident comes amid the looming anticipation of skirmishes between the two countries on the border, including the Line of Control in Kashmir. India has accused Pakistan of the Pahalgam attack in IIOK that claimed the lives of 26 Indian tourists in the region.
