Indian analyst Gaurav Arya gives ‘strategy’ to defeat Taliban

In the video, he is seen giving strategies to the Indian government on how to defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan and bring back the former government. Gaurav Arya said that India should give Afghan leader, Ahmed Masoud every month 100 million dollars to build and train an army against the Taliban. Besides giving money, India should provide them with helicopters and tanks.

The purported analyst added that India should ask Ahmed Masoud to prepare an army of 2 lac fighters to fight against the Taliban. Gaurav Arya said that India should fund that army along with a few other governments. The funds will cover the salaries and costs of military training of the Afghan Army.

The army would be headed by Ahmed Masoud and the leader of the interim government in Afghanistan should be made Amrullah Saleh. After sufficient training, the Afghan Army should attack the Taliban.

The video attracted mockery on social media as Pakistani netizens posted hilarious comments on social media. A social media user asked how India would transport military tanks to landlocked Afghanistan. Others said that India should listen to a ‘great strategist’ like Gaurav Arya to defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Earlier, DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar had said that India was in Afghanistan only to hurt Pakistan. Irrespective of what India says in terms of development or trade, its real reason to be in Afghanistan was to hurt Pakistan. Gen. Babar Iftikhar, Director Gen. Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR) said that during Q&A of his press briefing on Friday, Aug 27.

Gen. Babar Iftikhar, DG ISPR, spokesman of Pakistan Army, was speaking during the press conference held on Friday afternoon to brief journalists in the aftermath of a suicide bombing at the Kabul International Airport on the night of Thursday. Almost 100 people had died in a tragic attack including 13 US marines, 28 Afghan Taliban soldiers guarding the perimeter of the airport, and a large number of civilians. Almost 150 people were injured and many of those are in critical condition.
