A score of Indians and BJP politicians believe that American singer, Rihanna, is a Pakistani singer and agent after her pictures with Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari resurfaces.
Members and followers of India’s ruling party believe that Rihanna has allied with the Pakistani government in causing unrest in India by commenting on the ongoing Farmer’s protest in New Delhi.
Rihanna was among several other international celebrities who had reacted to the intense clashes going on between the Indian government and millions of farmers who have staged a sit-in protest for a few weeks now. Unable to reach negotiations, farmers and law enforcement agencies have clashed several times resulting in casualties.

New Delhi is using force to quell the protests that have now gained international attention. Foreign celebrities and governments are increasingly expressing solidarity with the farmers, a trend troubling the Indian government.
Rihanna caused a frenzy on Twitter after she posted a tweet expressing her concern over the suspension of the internet service and other human rights violations occurring in the ongoing farmers’ protest.
Rihanna shared a CNN article about the Indian government cutting off internet services in the surrounding areas of New Delhi and the violent clashes between the police and the farmers. She asked, “Why are we not talking about this?!”, using the hashtag “#FarmersProtest.”
The singer has a huge fan following in India and her tweet garnered thousands of retweets and likes as well as reactions from all over the world, especially India. She started trending on Twitter, and many appreciated her concern for the farmers, while others such as the renowned Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut did not seem to agree with the singer.

Moreover, a lot of BJP trolls posted her old picture with Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on tourism, Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari, in an attempt to create an impression that she is being allegedly funded by Pakistan’s top intelligence agency, ISI.

They also posted his picture with Drake, Rihanna’s beau, to build a narrative and malign Pakistan for creating unrest in India.
Meanwhile, the Indian government is running a PR campaign urging bigwigs of Bollywood, and the cricketing fraternity of Indian to tweet in favour of the government and help them silence the voice of dissent echoing across the country.
